With the easing of the recent lockdown restrictions in Wales, lessons are booking up fast here at Progress School of Motoring. After weeks of being unable to take lessons and sit tests, learner drivers are keen to get their test booked in and hopefully pass now that Progress School of Motoring is once again open and on the road. The weeks that we have been closed has led to a large number of people wanting to get their tests booked in within a short amount of time and this means that driving lessons are booking up very quickly as we strive to get back on track.

A driving test can be a pretty stressful time. You will often find that when it comes to this test, some students can fail because they make some very basic mistakes. It’s often more to do with nerves than anything else - understandable in the circumstances.

Originally, the DVSA had said it would make changes to the theory test in March 2020 but obviously this could not happen as no tests were taking place due to a countrywide lockdown. Changes have been announced to the theory test, but these were always due to be implemented at some stage, and now they have.

We are pleased to report that we are back and ready to start driving lessons once again. So let’s dive right into when we will be rescheduling tests, when we can start giving lessons, and what cautions we have taken to keep you safe during COVID-19.

The UK has gone into lockdown over the COVID–19 virus, and sadly whether we like it or not driving lessons are not considered an essential service and we have for now stopped when lockdown started.

For a long time, the driving test has been a rite of passage. It has formed the basis for young and old alike to become part of an elite club - those with the knowledge and legal permission to drive. These tests take a whole selection of forms, but they could be set to change.

2020 is a new year and the start of a new decade. It is also the beginning of attempts to tackle some of the problems surrounding driving, which involves introducing new rules and regulations for all drivers starting from the 1st of January.
